How To Avoid Boring Lavatory Faucets

Shopping for lavatory faucets can seem like a daunting job.  There are hundreds of them to choose from, and most of them look the same.  The key to finding something that doesn't look like all of the others is to shop in a way that most people don't, which we'll cover in this post!

Having a quality faucet in your lavatory is important because it makes a good impression on the guests in your home.  You and your family probably won't use the lav very often, so you're really building this room for the guests who spend time in your home.  You need something that is clean, classy, and easy to maintain.

Most lavatory faucets look the same, and if you want something like that, that's fine, but if you want something that will help your lav stand out it will take a little bit of work!

When shopping for single hole faucets, look at the creative designs of bar faucets.  These will work in almost every sink setup, without modification.  Bar faucets come in creative and stunning designs that you are not going to find in the standard lav faucet.  No touch faucets are common, as well as single handle and long spout.  The most creative designs in faucets, it seems, are in the bar faucet category.

Another way to find creative designs is to shop for antique lavatory faucets.  Faucets last a really, really long time and with some basic repairs you can turn an old one into something great in your lavatory.  It's usually just a matter of changing out some washer and seals, and the faucet will work just like a brand new one.

The most important thing to remember when shopping for lavatory faucets is that you don't have to use the ones that are designed for bathrooms and lavatories.  If a kitchen, bar, or utility faucet catches your eye and will work with your sink, get it!  Don't limit yourself to what the other people think that you should use.
