Your Jewelry Armoire Holds Memories

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

There was a time when women didn’t own quite the collection of jewelry that they do today.  Most women today have quite a few pieces that they must manage to organize.  In times when Kings and Queens ruled supreme, the crown jewels would not be the subject of such needs.  They were to be found in special rooms.  Well, if you have the jewelry a Queen would be jealous of and no place to put it, consider the jewelry armoire as your perfect solution.

Armoires have the benefit of being both a convenient place to store your jewelry and can make nice pieces of accent furniture in your space.  Some people would choose to have the jewelry box proudly displayed in their bedroom.  Others would rather it be a bit more out of sight and mind in the closet.  Whatever the case, these are more than just your average jewelry box.

Jewelry armoires are great pieces of furniture that can organize all of your jewelry in one easy to access unit.  No more rummaging through a shoebox or glass bowl on the counter.  Then, you have to untangle each necklace, earring and bracelet.  You know the drill.  Now, you can simply hang your items on individual hooks and store smaller pieces in drawers that have dividers.  There are a variety of these armoires available.

It is possible to get a locking jewelry armoire just to give yourself a little more privacy inside the home. While it won't exactly protect your valuables from being stolen it might deter the curious fingers from little ones in the house. It is also possible to install a wall mounted jewelry armoire for a little more permanance and there are some wonderful designs available that will allow it to blend in nicely with the rest of the room's decor.

The wooden jewelry armoire makes for the most elegant looking, in our opinion.  They come in various hues, from light oak to darker stains, like cherry and mahogany.  Then, there are other features, like glass inserts for the doors and sides.  Carving and other detailing can also be a feature of the armoire.  In this way, they are like the old wardrobe closets or clocks on fireplace mantels.  There was just something charming and warming about the detailed craftsmanship that went into those old wooden pieces of furniture.  Well, now you can have that same charm and organize your jewelry all at once.
